By far the best account is Barbara Braun's excellent book, Pre-Columbian Art and the Post-Columbian World: Ancient American Sources of Modern Art, which has a chapter called "Frank Lloyd Wright: A Vision of Maya. Two examples include Michael Coe's Breaking the Maya Code (), a study of the developments that led to Maya glyph decipherment, and Barbara Braun's Pre-Columbian Art and the Post-Columbian World (), an examination of the role that pre-Columbian art .
